As a matter of fact, when I was little, I never let myself hope for very much anything. If I didn’t hope for very much, then I wouldn’t be disappointed when I didn’t get anything. I remember in high school, walking into the room where you took the SAT tests. What I remember thinking is that you got three hundred points just for writing your name on the test. I have no idea whether that’s true or not, but that was the rumor at our high school. So I thought to myself, ‘At least I’ll make three hundred.’ It turned out that I did okay on the SATs. But my attitude was ‘Who cared. It doesn’t matter.’ The same with people. ‘If they like me, fine, If not, that’s fine, too.
